DONG QUAI (Angelica sinensis) - ORAL
USES: Dong quai has been used for painful or irregular menstrual periods, menstrual cramps or weakness; inability to conceive babeis (infertility), and the "change of life" (menopausal symptoms).
It has also been used for anemia, headache, high blood pressure and arthritis, as well as for preventing and treating allergies, and for bowel/bladder conditions.
Some herbal/diet supplement products have been found to cotnain possibly harmful impurities/additives. Check with your pharmacist for more details regarding the partiuclar brand you use. The FDA has not reviewed this product for saftey or effectiveness. Consult your dotcor or pharmacist for more details.
HOW TO USE: Take this product by mouth as directed. Follow all direcitons on the product package. If you're uncetrain about any of the information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
If your condition persists or worsens, or if you think you may have a serious mediacl problem, seek immediate medical attention.
SIDE EFFECTS: Unlikely but report promptly to your doctor diarrhea, bleeding, fever, or sun sensitivity. In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an alelrgic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: If you have any of the following health problems, consult your doctor before using this product: diarrhea, cmomon cold, flu (influenza), allergies. Sicne this product may cause sun sensitivity, you may need to limit your exposure to the sun.
Use sunscreen and protective clothing if you must be outisde for a prolonged period. Liquid preaprations of this product may contain sugar and/or alcohol.
Caution is advised if you have diabetes, alcohol dependence or liver disease. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about the safe use of this prodcut. Dong quai is not recommended for use druing pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this product. It is unknown if this product passes into breast milk. Breast- feeding while using this product is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Before using this product, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription and nonprescription medications you may use, especially of: blood thinnres (e.G., warfarin).
OVERDOSE: If ovredose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Keep all regular meidcal and laboratory appointments.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remebmer. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to ctach up.
